A low pressure system centered over Scandinavia will continue to bring scattered rain and cloudy conditions to much of Norway, Sweden, and Finland on Thursday. Temperatures are expected to become slightly cooler. Stockholm will be partly cloudy and will reach a temperature high of 64(F)/ 18(C).
As the system over Scandinavia travels eastward, a front extending from the system may create possible showers over countries to the south. Overcast conditions and possible scattered showers are expected to extend through Belarus, Poland, Germany, and into the northern British Isles. Temperatures are expected to be slightly warmer on Thursday. London will see scattered clouds with a temperature high of 75(F) / 24(C). Meanwhile, a building ridge of high pressure will keep the southern British Isles dry and mostly sunny on Thursday. A low pressure system traveling across the Atlantic is expected to cause more rain over the British Isles by the beginning of the weekend.
Central and Southern Europe will also see fair conditions on Thursday. Temperatures are expected to remain hot for countries along the Mediterranean Sea. Countries east of the Adriatic Sea will experience possible showers and cloudy conditions. Serbia and Kosovo will see the heaviest amounts of precipitation on Thursday. Barcelona can expect sunny conditions with a temperature high of 82(F)/ 28(C). Athens will also be sunny and hot, with a temperature high of 95(F)/ 35(C).
San Xavier Mission Indian village experienced a tornado that moved north, west, then back to the north on this date in 1964. Four places of residence were destroyed and two people were killed, marking the first known fatalities due to a tornado in the state of Arizona.
